Games cancelled

However, when the city steps in and closes the parks, there's not much we can do. So, until we go into politics and change the city's rules on park closures when it pertains to kickball, we're going to have to cancel games on days like this.
So, the official statement is that the Tempe Saguaro games are cancelled tonight, and you can probably count on the Tempe Monsoon games being cancelled tomorrow night (due to the monsoons).
I encourage you all to head out to Boulders on Broadway tonight instead. We'll have your team shirts available so you can look stylish and enjoy the evening in comfort.

That's right, NAKAD Kickball 2010 is about to take full swing. We have two divisions this season both starting next week!
Thursday Nights (Saguaro Division) -- Starts 1/14/10. This division will be held at Kiwanis Park in Tempe, AZ. Games start at 6:30 and run till 10pm. Sign up by this Thursday 1/7/10 to ensure you have a team shirt for week 1. All others will have their shirt by week 3.
Friday Nights (Monsoon Division) -- Starts 1/15/10. This division will be held at Esteban Park on the Phx/Tempe Boarder. Games start at 6:30 and run till 10pm. Sign up by this Friday 1/8/10 to ensure you have a team shirt for week 1. All others will have their shirt by week 3.
Our League bar will continue to be Boulders on Broadway for both Thursday and Friday nights. We look forward to seeing you on the field. Sign up as an individual and we'll find you a team or sign up on your favorite team today!

NAKAD Just Dancing videos!

NAKAD & Nintendo WII - Event Tomorrow Night!

This Friday, November 20th, NAKAD will be hosting a Just Dance video shoot and need your help! Our friends at Nomadic (an interactive agency in Scottsdale) are putting together a killer website for the international campaign launch of the Just Dance video game for Nintendo Wii. We want to help them get some great content for their site as well as promote the league. The videos could be featured on the website and possibly in TV commercials!
There will be a section set up for dancing and Wii'ing between the fields on Friday. We will bring all the necessary equipment, you just need to bring your bodies and dancin’ feet.
Nomadic wants both field and bar footage so there will be a secondary video shoot at Boulders upstairs after the games on Friday. Same focus, just a different setting. Food and drink will be provided to participants.
There are a few caveats:
- Wii straps must be worn at all times.
- Everyone who participates must sign a release that says Nomadic can use the footage however they see fit.
- The game is rated E10 so no nudity, swearing, drug or alcohol IN the videos. (Sorry!)
- 1 to 4 players at a time (4 person teams not necessary but are encouraged. Solo performances are also welcomed.)

Stephanie Abril from 2 in the Pink will be orchestrating the event (she is a Nomadic employee) along with Kevin Phillips (former Nomadic employee/Nakad partner/2 in the Pink pitcher.)
We need at least 15-20 awesome videos with some major dance skillz. Please rally your teams to participate, it’s gonna be fun! Team shirts are encouraged.

Here's the contest:
- Upload your best NAKAD Kickball photos to our Facebook Page (http://www.facebook.com/nakadkickball)
- Bring your camera to the fields and take the best photos you can!
- Contest deadline is Midnight October 12th (Monday - gives you time to upload pics from the games on the 9th)
- Winners will be announced October 14th (Giving the winner time to plan on going to Boulders after the games on the 16th)
- Winners will be determined by the 5 NAKAD Kickball owners, so feel free to play to the judge.
- Having visible NAKAD logos in your shots will definitely earn you points and is highly recommended, but not necessary.
- First place is a $50 credit to Boulders on Broadway, a NAKAD kickball, and a NAKAD Koozie!
- Second place prize is a NAKAD Shirt (from available stock), ball, and NAKAD Koozie.
- Third place gets an awesome NAKAD Koozie!

by Chad Crawford (2009-09-19 01:50:31)| Comment | Share on FacebookThe Rowdie Hooligans which were the #2 seed pulled off a great win over #1 seeded Ludicrous Speed. It started off as a very tight game then with a great kick which lead to a home run the Hooligans took the lead and never looked back.
Coach Sami lead the Hooligans into another great championship battle which now makes the Hooligans a Dynasty for sure.
Thank you all who plays NAKAD and congrats to the Hooligans on another championship and to Ludicrous Speed on a great season and taking 2nd place.
